On March 29, 2019, 8:00 PM, at ArtShareLA, The Carillon Quartet is delighted to bring to life this concert inspired by Jorge Luis Borges’s short story: The Garden of Forking Paths (El Jardín de los Senderos que se Bifurcan). It is one in a series of two Borges inspired concerts, the second of which will be presented at the Santa Monica Public Library on May 15, 2019.

The Quartet pays homage to the Argentinian genius by exploring Toru Takemitsu’s transcendental piece, Paths, from many angles and through many lenses. Within this labyrinth of possibilities, four trumpet players present a version of the piece that has never been heard before on any stage.

Within this journey listeners will also hear music by Michael Blake Watkins, Stefano Scodanibbio, and Pauline Oliveros.

Presented by The Carillon Quartet with guest Mike Davis.
